\n\"WIN_20140502_193645\"Ein Forenmitglied von Astrotreff-Deep-Sky<\/a>\u00a0machte mich dankenswerter Weise auf den Raumzeitsimulator<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0 (siehe auch\u00a0Prettygoodphysics<\/a>) aufmerksam.
\nEinige d\u00fcrften auch die Trichter-Spardosen \u00a0(siehe z.B.\u00a0hier<\/a>) kennen bei denen die M\u00fcnze langsam ins Zentrum rollt, diese sah man fr\u00fcher z.B. \u00a0bei Ikea, im Zoo oder einigen Einkaufszentren.<\/p>\n

Lange Rede, kurzer Sinn:
\nSo etwas muss ich bauen. Wie im Video zu sehen ist lassen sich verschiedene Ph\u00e4nomene visualisieren.<\/p>\n

Meiner Meinung nach ist solch ein Modell zum Anfassen nochmal eindrucksvoller als die Simulationen am PC oder TV.
\nSogar ein kleiner “Mond” der dem Lauf einer gr\u00f6\u00dferen Kugel folgt und diese umrundet, oder einen Orbit um zwei Sterne ist m\u00f6glich.
\n\"grid\"<\/p>\n

Nat\u00fcrlich sorgt die Steigung und die Reibung daf\u00fcr dass die Kugeln nur ein paar Runden drehen, doch das gen\u00fcgt zum Experimentieren.<\/p>\n

Zwar l\u00e4sst sich mit solch einem Modell nur ann\u00e4hernd demonstrieren wie die Raumzeit in der Realit\u00e4t funktioniert, doch das bohrsche Atommodell funktioniert ja auch nur bedingt und wird trotzdem in den Schulen gelehrt.<\/p>\n

Zum Bau! \ud83d\ude42
\nMan ben\u00f6tigt:
\n6 Meter 16mm Kabel\/Installationsrohr, gesamt ca. 2\u20ac
\n4 Meter 25mm Installationsrohr, gesamt ca. 3\u20ac
\nClip-Halterungen, je 12 St\u00fcck (Ca. 3\u20ac),
\n-ggf. Verbindungsst\u00fccke, f\u00fcr einen Bau ist ein weiteres 16mm Rohr g\u00fcnstiger
\nS\u00e4ge
\nGewebeklebeband, Sekundenkleber-Gel
\nW\u00e4scheklammern mit weichen Silikonspitzen oder Dokumentenklammern
\nVerschiedene Murmeln, Kugel\/Gewicht<\/p>\n

Stretch-Stoff mit hohem Elastan\/Lycra\/Spandex-Anteil (8, besser 10, selten findet man 12 oder gar 20%), es gibt bei eBay Restposten zu 2\u20ac pro laufender Meter mit 150cm Breite .<\/p>\n

-Breiterer ist leider recht teuer und schwieriger zu finden.
\nDaf\u00fcr ist diese Variante dann kompakter, wenn auch die Kugeln nicht so oft kreisen k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n

Mein Aufbau ist wie immer g\u00fcnstig, die Stabilit\u00e4t ausreichend, daf\u00fcr portabel und leicht. Die niedrige H\u00f6he ist ideal um auch mit j\u00fcngeren Kindern daran arbeiten zu k\u00f6nnen oder es auf mehrere Schultische zu stellen. Durch die H\u00f6henverstellung kann man das Gewicht auf dem Boden aufsetzen lassen und den Grad der Einbuchtung so steuern.<\/p>\n

Zun\u00e4chst klebt man die kleinen und gro\u00dfen Clip-Halerungen 90 Grad versetzt aneinander. Sekundenkleber-Gel ist einfacher zu Handhaben. Baut man es mit Kindern ist eine Hei\u00dfklebepistole oder gar Maschinenschrauben plus Mutter sicherer.

Zun\u00e4chst s\u00e4gt man ein d\u00fcnnes 16mm Rohr in der Mitte durch, und Steckt 2,5 Zwei-Meter-Rohre zu einem Ring zusammen. Um ein herausbrechen der Steckverbinder bei diesem Radius zu verhindern sollte man es dick mit Klebeband umwickeln, ggf. mit einem kurzem St\u00fcck Holz\/Bleistift schienen.<\/p>\n

Die 2 dicken 25mm Rohre s\u00e4gt man in 66cm St\u00fccke, sie bilden sechs Beine f\u00fcr den Aufbau.<\/p>\n

Mit den geklebten Clip-Verbinder kann man das Ganze nun aufbauen.

Man m\u00f6ge die Unordnung entschuldigen,\u00a0 ich musste alles beiseite R\u00e4umen und nebenher haben wir noch anderen Kram ausgepackt und aufgebaut \ud83d\ude09

Nun muss der Stoff gespannt werden. Am besten man befestigt die Klammern zun\u00e4chst \u00fcber Kreuz und erg\u00e4nzt diese dann mit insgesamt ca. 10 Klammern. Zu viele erschweren das nachtr\u00e4gliche Justieren, zu wenige Klammern spannen nicht stark genug.
\nDer Ring sollte in der Wage sein, die Cliphalterungen k\u00f6nnen beim Spannen und Nutzen manchmal etwas nachgeben.

Transport und Lagerung sind recht unproblematisch, entfernt man das Klebeband kann der Aufbau weiter zerlegt werden.

Dann kann man ein Gewicht in die Mitte legen, um das die kleinen Kugeln kreisen.<\/p>\n

Leider habe ich noch kein richtiges Video gemacht, aber das verlinkte Originalprojekt (A<\/strong><\/a>, B<\/a>) ist ja sehr anschaulich.

\nHeute habe ich den Simulator noch mal aufgebaut, man muss unbedingt die Steckverbindungen gut umwickeln oder gar kleben, ggf. auch einfach die Rohre schon vorher biegen um ein ausbrechen oder herausrutschen zu verhindern. Aber als erster Prototyp l\u00e4uft es ganz gut. <\/p>\n

\nIt is a simple yet very effective way to teach how gravity\/space-time works.
\nSome may also know the coin funnels \u00a0(eg.\u00a0here<\/a>) where a coin slowly spins towards the center, some malls and zoos had those. Same thing, less flexible.<\/p>\n

Long story short:
\nI have to build one of these. As you can see there are a lot of experiments you can do with it, and as I volunteer at a local school, this would be the perfect way to demonstrate all of it instead of reading boring worksheets.<\/p>\n

In my opinion a experiment you can touch, change and watch will be even more successful in teaching such complicated things to fifth-graders then animations on TV or the computer.<\/p>\n

One of my favorite things about this thing is, that you can even let a small “moon” circle around the “planet” while both orbit around the sun-center. Unfortunately I need to get more marbles as I only have one type, BBs where too light to really work.<\/p>\n

Of course friction and gravity will prevent the marbles from running around the center for more then a few rounds, but it should be good enough to experiment and observe.<\/p>\n

Surely this model is rather simplifying the physics, but so was the atomic model we learned at school. Both have their limits, but they teach the basics quite well and are easier to understand. <\/p>\n

\nYou’ll need:<\/p>\n

5-6 x M16x2000mm installation tube\/conduit , 2 x M25x2000mm installation tube; aprox. 5\u20ac
\n12 x M16 Clips, 12 x M25 Clips \u20ac3
\n-M16 connecting tubes or if you just build one set, another M16 pipe will be the cheaper option
\n-superglue gel
\n-Hand saw
\n-Duct-Tape
\n-10-20% elastan\/Spandex stretch fabric 150cmx150cm
\n-Clothpins with soft tips or Document clips
\n-Big sphere or weight
\n-Marbles of different sizes<\/p>\n

The stretch fabric is a bit expensive, but you can get it at sales or fabric remnants at ebay sometimes. I got some for 2\u20ac for the running meter with 150cm width, surprisingly the fabric with 8% worked better then the one with 10%, probably because it was thinner.
\n-Wider rolls are harder too find and more expensive.
\nYou may be able to stitch two rows together with flexible thread, but the smaller size with this set-up has a few advantages. It will be easier to build, cheaper, lighter… But the marbles will not circle the center as many times as with the bigger set-up.<\/p>\n

My construction was ment to be cheap and portable, the rigidity is not perfect but OK. You may get away with longer legs, but I would advise against it. The height is ideal to use with younger kids or while seated, or you can put the thing on several tables instead.
\nThanks to the adjustable height you can change how hard the weight dents the fabric and control the behavior of the marbles quite well.<\/p>\n

The first step would be to glue the clip holders together, with a 90 degree offset. Instant-glue-gel worked great as it is not as runny and makes contact well. With kids a glue-gun or nuts&bolts may be a more secure solution.

While the glue does what it should, take one of the thinner 16mm pipe and cut it in half with a saw. Stick it together tightly with two whole ones, creating a pipe 4.5 meters long. Secure the connections with duct-tape. Bend it into a loop and connect the ends, also tape that connection. To avoid it loosening over time or forming a oval you can take a short pencil to splint\/reinforce the connection with duct-tape.<\/p>\n

Take the two thick 25mm pipes and cut them into 66cm pieces. These are the legs of the construction.<\/p>\n

With the clip-connectors you can now assemble the whole thing. When you are done building, you will see it is pretty easy, much simpler then my stopmotion-film-box or the dobsonian mount for flea-market-telescopes.

Now you will need to put the fabric across the pipe-ring. Start on one side, and stretch it across (“north\/south”). Then do the same thing from side to side (“east\/west”). Then secure the whole ring carefully. Do not use more then about ten clips, else it will be difficult to make adjustments.
\nIt should stretch, but still be flexible.
\nAlso make sure the ring is leveled, sometimes the clip slide down after using the construction.<\/p>\n

Transport and storage are easy-peasy. If you remove the duct-tape, it will be even easier to move around.

Aftermath
\nAfter setting up the simulator once more I think it would be best to wrap the connections with even more tape or glue them together. Perhaps pre-bending the pipes would decrease the risk of breaking or popping out. But for a first prototype the whole thing works well. <\/p>\n
